Cluster level review committee meeting are held under CMP for strengthening of Primary Education.
 
Minutes of the 3rd Quarter Meeting of CMP Cluster level Date: 07-03-2009
 
Mr Rohitas Kumar Principal, KV INS Valsura, Jamnagar, Coordinator Cluster Level review meeting of the Third Quarter for Common Minimum Programme (CMP) for Qualitative Improvement of the Primary Education.
The meeting was attended by the following Principals and Senior PRTs of the cluster.

The following points were discussed and suggestions given:
1) Resources procured by all KVs of the cluster:
a) CMP in activity room - LCD, Computer, 29" Colour TV, Photo state machine, CD, Pen Drive Purchased.
b) Teaching Aids - Standard wise and class wise weighing machine, weights etc beads for Std I.
c) Monthly Rs. 2000/- according to CMP completed.
2) Problems related to all types of required facilities in the individual KV
a) All facilities are there - drinking water, toilet cleanliness, sufficient rooms, furniture is enough.
b) Regular teachers - all educated and teach in activity based teaching
c) Education is child centered. CMP root teaching, no corporal punishment.
d) CMP copy has been given to all new teachers. REcommendation - Ask all the KV teachers to read it as it guides about time table, activities etc.
e) Lab Letter - NCERT books Rs 1300/- for 05 books set, EVS 02 books. Recommendations HM and Senior PRT must ensure the teacher use it.
f) Qualitative education must be improved, time centered education must be improved.
3) Designing of the new session Time Table.
a) BLock period twice in a week for non scholastic teaching. Block periods once in a week for games.
b) Two teacher system for class I and II, Three teacher system for class III, Four teacher system for Class IV and V.
c) Teachers teaching in Class I and II must be given one subject in Classes IV and V.
d) Arrangement periods of Class I and II teachers should be in Classes IV and V.
e) Coordination must be there amongst teachers in classes I and II.
f) School Readiness Programme will be followed in Class I till reopening of school in June.
g) Half day school for Class I till school re opens in June. It again depends on the individual school principal and problems related to transportation. Children from city can remain in TV room.
h) During admission a programme sheet must be given to parents, children will bring proper lunch box and water bottle. Lunch must be nutritious. Procure file for activity sheets.
i) Make a book let in all subjects and teach in the class. Last year, subject wise papers were made by the teachers and given to the students.
j) Get one book subject wise, the teacher will teach date wise on Saturday the book can be sent home.
k) Activity sheet for every class must be made and kept in a file on the last working day of the month it can be shown to the parents.
l) During admission ask the parents of class I and II to get a set of note books:
English FOur line notebook
Hindi : Five line Notebook
Maths : Big Square Notebook
EVS : One sided four lines Notebook.
m) Every subject note book can be covered with Colour papers and over it a plastic cover be covered.
n) Inform the parents to send two bags, One bag with only note books and the other with the lunch box and water bottle. The bag with books will be kept in the class itself. On Saturday the bag can be sent home.
o) Every day two note books (Subject wise) can be sent home.
p) Ask the parents to send in the lunch box different items every day e.g. Chappati, and leafy vegetables on Monday, and snacks on Tuesday, Chappati with vegetables on Wednesday Bakery products on Thursday, Sproted Dal on Friday and Poha Upma on Saturday.
q) Community lunch can be conducted monthly or quarterly from classes I to V for inculcating a feeling of caring and sharing. The Class teacher at least once a week must eat lunch with their students.
4) Details of teaching learning materials procured
a) Make a list of materials for CMP and procure it.
5) Discussion on the Computer aided teaching in primary classes.
a) Computer periods must also be block periods.
b) Question papers must be set for computers.
6) Teaching learning according to competencies given as per KVS.
a) Question papers must be sent according to competencies and blue print.
b) Reading - Make the students read in the class and correct them.
c) Writing - Correct the note books minutely for three months and then the students will improve.
d) Slow learners must read every day in English and Hindi. Bright students can be given a chance twice in a week.
e) In classes I and II reading must be done regularly. The HM should chalk out a program when reading must be done.
f) Use of OHP for teaching, reading and writing. Every class should procure a OHP.
g) Listening- Children don't like to listen. In classes I and II tell stories which they can enact and enjoy. Teachers can collect stories and poems and the HM must check once in a month. It can be exchanged in the CMP meeting.
h) Music Teacher can be given the poem and he can give rhythm to it. Students can sing the poem. He can make the CD. A zerox copy of Hindi poem can be given to the Music teacher for giving it musical notes. Teach one bhajan to the students. Improve vocabulary in Class I and II.
i) Discipline must be done properly.
7) Discussion regarding best use of grading system and related problems:
a) Cluster level basis paper of SEE will be evaluated.
b) Dwarka and Okha will re evaluate in Okha.
c) We must sent the papers of Bright, Weak, and average students for reevaluation.
8) In service Course:
a) 16th, 17th and 18th of March 2009, all PRTs will have an Inservie course in KV No. 1 AFS Jamnagar,
b) Samana, Okha and Dwarka teachers will stay in the school itself.
c) The CMP meeting can be converted into a workshop for all PRTs of the Venue School.
9) Date of Next CMP meeting:
a) The next CMP meeting will be held in KV Inf Lines Jamnagar on Saturday 27th June 2009. The meeting ended by a speech given by Mr M N Kadam Principal and Cluster in charge KV 3 AF II Jamnagar.
Many practical problems that we are facing was discussed. Each KV has its own unique feature. Overall a very good discussion and interaction, Each KV is doing its best.
